Critical Research Question

How to first develop skills in poetry writing, then to fine tune those skills in to lyric composition?

  1. Great question, like the "fine tune" into "lyric composition" --
Poetic devices: alliteration, metaphor, rhyme, personification, etc.
work well into lyrics. Poetry basically has three components:
    1) feeling/meaning (from the heart/na'au)
    2) sound: of the word combos, of the singer's voice
    3) rhythm: the beat! Repeat, repeat to make a beat.
    Kanikapila!
